The Crazy Kuehl's are getting crazier!

It's been over a month since I have last updated anyone on what's going on with our lives... so much has been going on. We'll go one family member at a time:

TRAVIS: As most of you know, the reason we moved out to Wisconsin almost 2 years ago was following in my other siblings footsteps in get into the Subway ownership game. Well after looking in Denver last winter, almost moving to Red Lodge, MT last summer and basically giving up on our dreams later this last fall, we are 4 days away from "offically" becoming Subway owners. Our store will be in Wisconsin Dells. Travis was approved by Subway in late January to go to training out in Connecticut for 2 weeks. On Super Bowl Sunday, Isaac and I drove him to the airport and (tearfully) waved him "Bye, Bye" for 2 weeks. In his two weeks there he learned all the in's and out's of Subway, randomly met Dan Marino, turned 32, met the founder of Subway and visited New York City. He returned last Saturday morning to two happy (again tearful) faces at the airport. I wish I would have captured Isaac's reaction to seeing his daddy again. It was pretty adorable. I was too busy being emotional though. :)

Rachel: Major change on a pregnant woman is rough! I made it though. In the past when Travis would be gone for a few days, I would feel empowered that I can make it on my own... not so much when there is a toddler and a baby in-utero!  I made it though, and his absence made me appreciate his presence that much more! Other than that, my belly is just swelling more and more every day. I'm in my last trimester now and the baby girl will be here before I know it!

Isaac: The little guy had to start day-care for the first time the day after daddy left. I thought he would be just fine, because he has always been so social in the past. It did take him about a week to adjust. They tell me he is really shy???? Who knew! He was pretty good for mom while dad was gone, although we did have a five day streak of being up in the middle of the night! He is really good at moving along furniture now and should be walking soon. He can stand, but doesn't do it unless he doesn't realize he is doing it. Also, all but two teeth and his two year molars are now in, so the horrible part of teething should be over.

All of us: So now we are just a few days away from business ownership. Along with Subway, we are buying the building it is in, which has two apartment complexes, so we will become landlords too. Lot's of exciting changes... and let's throw in a new baby and the very real possibility of us moving.. AGAIN! We are currently house shopping for something closer to the Wisconsin Dells (where our store is) so we aren't each driving an hour in opposite directions this summer with our two kids somewhere in the middle. Stressful! You heard it here first... NEXT YEAR THERE WILL BE NO BABIES AND NO MOVING!

Here a few pics. Not many.
Checkin out his sisters crib. He looks un-impressed.

Girl side of the room they may never share. :)

Jammie Day!

Isaac missed the IPAD while dad was gone!

Two more teeth to go on the bottom! They are all in on top!

Watching one of his favorite shows- Around the Horn on ESPN! He loves the colors and noises.

January Blahs!

So 2012 is here and in the first 18 days we had both of our cars broke down, our furnace went out, I have been sick twice and it seems like Isaac is sick every other day. Let's hope we got all the bad stuff out of the way so the rest of the year is wonderful.

On the bright side, we did have spring like weather until January 15th and spend a lot of time outside enjoying it. It all came to an end though, as we now have about 8 inches of snow on the ground and are experiencing below zero temp for the first time since we left Fargo.  Looking at the future forecast, it looks like we will be back into the 30's by next week. If that is all the winter we get, that would be just great!

I am busy driving back and forth to work and also am in full nesting mode. Today I am busy "Girlyfying" half of Isaac's room as they will share until we are able to finish our basement and add on 2 extra bedrooms. I use the website "Pinterest" a lot and it has unleashed my creative side. Travis has been busy trying to buy a Subway. Hopefully very soon, (like within the next few weeks) we can tell you all we are offical Subway business owners. Everything is looking very promising, but I won't be completely convinced until closing day.

Isaac is busy learning new things every day. He is 14 months old as of yesterday. I think we are finally done with bottles! He now has 12 teeth, walks with assistance, waves bye bye (so cute) and got his second haircut. He went from hippie to handsome just like that! Here a some pics from the last month.

New Years Eve Chocolate Fondue and Grape Juice!

Help Mom fold clothes.

Grumpy Gus after naptime. He is soooo much like his dad!

Lookin' good after his haircut!

14 months old! 22lbs, starting to stretch out a lot!

Just being stinkin cute.

Life after turning 1

Well Isaac is 1 now, and I have officially started slacking on taking millions of pictures of him and updating the blog. I'm sure it will only get worse once #2 arrives in May. After spending the first year of his life perfectly content being a bum and not moving, he is on the go-go-go now. He crawls like a little spider monkey, opens all the cabinet doors, pulls himself up to standing position and walks slowly along the furniture. Here are some more things he has been doing lately...
Chillin out on his new sweet chair he received from Uncle Steve for Christmas. Having his bedtime snack and watching TV.  I think Steve would approve!

Playing with his cousins. Now that he can keep up with them he thinks it's great. This picture doesn't even begin to depict the chaos that goes on when all four are together.

Still keeping it cute with Grace!

Loves his activity table!

Also... LOVES to read books. In this pic he is reading his favorite Peek-a-Who... it's also mine and Trav's favorite. Not many words and fun to read! Good pick Uncle Shane!

Thinks brushing his teeth with his Dad is a hoot!

Stand Off

Now that we got Isaac moving a little bit, Travis is determined to get him to say Da-Da. The other day, the two had a stand-off after Isaac's nap. Travis claimed he wouldn't take him out of the crib until he talked.

Christmas for a 1 year old

So we traveled to Hankinson to celebrate Christmas with the Kuehl's this year. Isaac was way off on his sleep the whole time and had somewhat of an attitude problem the whole time we were there. Not a lot of precious moments available to catch on camera, so this is what I got.
Pretty much captured his mood all weekend right here...

We blamed it on a teething issue... but a new tooth has yet to pop through.

This Elmo guitar kept him occupied for about 4 hours on the way home.

The Kuehl fam.. my unborn daughter is making my face puffy!

Maybe... almost a smile?

We took a nice long walk on Christmas Day.. so nice outside!

Jam Session!

DQ stop on the way home to fulfill my blizzard craving. Travis, you look scary.

Baby Girl Kuehl

What a great birthday present! I went and had an elective 3D ultrasound done today to find out (20 days earlier than my scheduled one with the clinic) the gender of the baby... and it's a GIRL! Everyone was right... they all told me they thought it was a girl. Here are a few of the better pics from the ultrasound. We are so excited for May!
If you want to see the picture, but bigger, just click on it!

That protrusion punching her in the face is actually a braxton hicks contraction that I was having!

So Cute! Chubby cheeks already!

Finally Crawling

Well it took 1 year and 5 days, but Isaac finally started crawling on all fours! I would like to think that he put off being on the go until my first trimester was over and I had energy to keep up with him again. He is such a thoughtful little guy! Here he is in action.
